A member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, along with the heads of the Council of Ministers, Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahawi, and the Shura Council, Mohammed Hussein Al-Aydarous, launched on Sunday the 1-1 campaign of the National Cancer Foundation under the title "I will start my year well to support cancer patients 2025".
At the launch, the member of the Supreme Political Council emphasized the importance of limiting pesticides that are harmful to society and threaten human life.
He directed the government of change and construction to take deterrent measures and strict penalties against smugglers who bring toxic pesticides into our country, and to strengthen the role of control over medicines , health safety and reduce pests that result in cancer diseases.
Al-Rahawi pointed to the role of Al-Amal Hospital as well as the continued development and expansion of the level of health care for cancer patients in reducing the burden of traveling abroad for treatment, stressing the importance of awareness and continuous education among the community about the causes of this malignant disease to avoid them in order to reduce the incidence of this disease.
The Prime Minister stated that the government has embarked on the fight against pesticides that are related to cancer diseases by banning their importation with inspection campaigns to the markets to confiscate expired quantities that enter through smuggling in order to protect human health, soil and the environment from their damage, stressing the importance of combining government, private sector and popular efforts to combat this malignant disease, wishing success to all those working in this field and that all their efforts will be crowned with success.
The Health and Environment Minister, Dr. Ali Shaiban, delivered a speech in which he pointed out that cancer is a major global issue that has affected all peoples, noting the great effort made by the government, the private sector, the Cancer Control Fund , governmental and private health facilities concerned with the treatment of tumors.
He pointed out that everyone is a partner in treating patients with this type of disease and other incurable diseases, pointing out the importance of focusing on addressing the causes of cancer because of its importance in reducing the incidence of cancer.
At the inauguration, which was attended by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Bajjala, the Secretary General of the House of Representatives, Abdulrahman Al-Mansour, and the Chairman of the Public Authority for Zakat, Shamsan Abu Nashtan, the Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, Hassan Al-Kabous, explained that the Foundation is launching the start of surgical intervention for cancer patients through Al-Amal Hospital by changing the path of 200 cancer patients this year who need surgical operations.
He pointed out that the Foundation today gives new hope to the heroes of patience of cancer patients, whether they are children, women or men who are recovering from the disease after being exhausted by the disease, pointing out the importance of community partnership.
He pointed out the importance of community partnership between society, individuals and institutions to achieve a noble goal.
Dr. Antar Al-Afari, head of the surgical department at Al-Amal Oncology Hospital, announced the start of work at Al-Amal Hospital, which is the dream and hope of patients and alleviates their pain.
