The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas denounced the campaign of threats and incitement against a member of the Legislative Council and Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Dr. Mustafa Barghouti.
The movement said in a statement on Sunday: This campaign is a continuation of targeting national unity and the Palestinian social fabric and an escalation of the approach of political exclusion.
It explained that "this systematic campaign against Dr. Barghouti comes in light of his national unitary positions, his support for the resistance and his refusal to pursue it in Jenin, and his support for free voices, where all international and media forums testify to his solid defense of the Palestinian people and their cause."
It called on the Palestinian people, factions, and institutions to raise their voices in the face of these unpatriotic practices aimed at undermining their leaders and free people and confronting behaviors that contradict their national values.
It also urged Hamas to close ranks to confront the fascist occupation's plans and brutal massacres against the Palestinian people and their land in the West Bank, Quds, and the Gaza Strip.
