Sana'a - Saba:
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources strongly on Tuesday condemned the recent attack on fishermen in al-Amoudi Marina in Mokha city by the Giants / al-Amaleqah Forces, affiliated with mercenary Abu Zar'ah al-Mahrami, a member of the so-called Presidential Leadership Council.
In a statement issued by the Ministry, it described the destruction of the fishermen’s boats and the filling of these vessels with rocks and heavy machinery—under the pretext of establishing a barrier—as a blatant violation of the rights of fishermen and an assault on their primary source of livelihood.
The Ministry emphasized that this action further exacerbates the economic hardships of the fishermen, who rely on their boats to support their families.
The Ministry also condemned the severe damage caused to the national economy and marine environment, warning that such actions threaten the region's social security.
It called for immediate action to lift the injustice faced by the fishermen, compensate them for their losses, and hold Abu Zar'ah al-Mahrami accountable for instigating the attack.
Furthermore, the Ministry urged the judicial authorities to launch an urgent investigation into the incident, ensuring that those responsible are held accountable and preventing similar acts in the future.
The Ministry expressed full solidarity with the affected fishermen and pledged to provide all necessary support to protect their rights and promote a safe, stable environment for the fishing sector.
