Gaza - Saba:
Last night, Taher Al-Nunu, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, commented on the statements of the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, regarding the return of fighting in Gaza and the control of the Philadelphi Corridor.
Leader Al-Nunu said in statements to "Al-Jazeera Mubasher": "We are committed to the ceasefire agreement and do not pay attention to Netanyahu's statements regarding the resumption of fighting, and the mediators and the international community must oblige the occupation to implement the terms of the agreement."
In a speech on Saturday evening, Netanyahu said: “The first stage of the agreement is a ‘temporary ceasefire’… stressing that he is ‘determined to achieve the goals of the war by returning the kidnapped and destroying Hamas’.
He added: ‘I pledge to complete the implementation of all the goals of the war’… noting that US Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump ‘gave him full support in this’ and that they ‘gave Israel the right to return to fighting if necessary’.
Regarding the Philadelphi corridor, he said: ‘We will increase the number of our forces in the Philadelphi corridor and the buffer zone in the Gaza envelope’… defying reports that indicated otherwise.
At 8:30 am on Sunday morning, the ceasefire agreement went into effect in the Gaza Strip, after 470 days of war, which claimed the lives of 46,899 martyrs and injured 110,725 since October 7, 2023.
