Taiz - Saba:
The local authority in Taiz province on Thursday launched the first phase of a project to illuminate the city's northern entrance.
The initiative aims to improve basic services and enhance the quality of life for residents.
The first phase, implemented by the Public Works and Roads Sector, involves installing solar-powered lighting systems in key areas, including al-Dhakara, al-Sha'ab Residential City, Selah al-Muhandiseen, and the entrance to al-Samkar, extending to Aden Roundabout junction.
Engineer Bakil Hamid, Director of the Public Works Sector in Taiz, stated the project is in response to community needs and part of a larger effort to rehabilitate services impacted by the ongoing conflict.
He emphasized the use of solar energy as a sustainable and cost-effective solution.
This initial phase is part of a comprehensive plan to extend lighting along major roads, improving traffic safety, reducing accidents, and supporting evening commercial activity.
Hamid confirmed the engineering teams' commitment to high quality and technical standards. The local authority plans to continue the project in phases to maximize benefits for Taiz residents. Taiz City's northern entrance gets solar-powered lighting
