The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ali Al-Yafei, and the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, today inaugurated the third plastic arts competition and exhibition "Al-Aqsa Flood" for students of public and private universities and community colleges for the year 1446 AH under the slogan "You are not alone".

Al-Yafei and Al-Dais, accompanied by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Education for the Higher Education Sector, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, and Basic Education, Hadi Ammar, toured the exhibition halls, which are organized over five days by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with the aim of discovering talents and creativity among university students and working to nurture them.

They listened to the exhibition organizers explaining the contents of the exhibition, which includes 200 paintings and artworks presented by more than 20 public and private universities in the capital and the governorates, using materials such as "acrylic on canvas, oil painting on canvas, and a group of works related to collage materials", a group of expressive paintings, and paintings that highlighted the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy.

The artworks presented reflected the level of creativity and art in expressing the steadfastness and resilience of the Palestinian resistance, and the extent of the Palestinian people's connection and rootedness to the land despite the massacres committed by the Zionist enemy entity against them and the pain and suffering, but they presented a strong image of their adherence to their land and not abandoning it no matter the sacrifices.

The paintings highlighted the position of Yemen's leadership, government, and people in lifting the siege and supporting Gaza, the right of return, the children of olives, the dove of peace, the Palestinian identity, the map of Palestine from the river to the sea, and pictures that exposed the brutal crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against the residents of Gaza and the extent of the destruction and killing of the necessities of life in the sector, and the extent of the Arab and Islamic betrayal of Palestine.

During the opening, the Minister of Culture and Tourism praised the creativity of young people from various Yemeni universities for implementing artistic works at this advanced level compared to their academic and artistic level.

He considered the exhibition the first fruit of cooperation between the Ministries of Culture and Tourism and Education and Scientific Research, and the extent of cooperation at the level of activities and highlighting the creativity and talents of students in various fields.

Dr. Al-Yafei pointed out that the artworks reflected in their content the rich history of the Yemeni faith identity, culture and civilization, and the victory of the oppressed and just Palestinian cause.. Noting the creativity and capabilities of the students who tried to make resistance the main element in their artwork and express the extent of the youth's sense and awareness of the Palestinian cause.

He expressed pride and appreciation for the paintings drawn by the youth, which tell of the heroes of resistance, revolution, freedom and the connection between Palestine and Yemen in terms of suffering, pain and a single feeling in light of betrayal, normalization and the Arab downfall.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Al-Dais, praised the level of active participation of Yemeni university students in the Fine Arts Exhibition, which expresses their awareness and deep sense of responsibility towards the Palestinian cause, land and people.

He stressed the keenness to enhance cooperation with the Ministry of Culture to hold more future events and activities to express the extent of belonging to the Arab and Islamic nation and the connection between the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples at all levels and to emphasize the expression of reality and uprising to restore rights.
