Sana'a - Saba:
Sana'a Governor's Deputy Abdul-Mughni Dawood inspected the progress of work on the drinking water network expansion project in the city of Matna in Bani Matar District. The project includes expanding the water network pipes of the local water and sanitation corporation in the Matna branch, with a length of 4,000 meters at $20,000, funded by UNICEF.
The project aims to meet the growing needs of the population, especially in light of the repercussions of the aggression and siege on the water sector.
Deputy Dawood stressed the importance of developing water projects and called for continuing efforts and coordination with the supporting parties to expand the project to include the entire city of Matna. For his part, the director of the directorate, Yahya Al-Qanous, pointed out the importance of the project in providing water to areas that were not previously covered by the network, expressing his appreciation for the support of the local authority.
The director of the corporation in the directorate, Fouad Al-Ma'adani, explained that the project includes the neighborhoods of Al-Sawad, Al-Barid, Sudan, Al-Sumoud, and Al-Maliya, which were suffering from a lack of water services. An expansion of the water network in Al-Khair neighborhood was also implemented, with a length of 1,200 meters, with self-financing at 4.4 million riyals, to serve about 500 people.
