Thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, in light of the strict military measures imposed by the enemy authorities on access to the mosque.

The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said that 40 thousand Palestinians were able to reach Al-Aqsa and perform prayers in it despite the occupation restrictions.

Local sources reported to the Palestinian News Agency that the enemy forces obstructed the access of worshipers to Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform prayers through Bab Al-Amoud and Bab Al-Asbat, checked their identities, and arrested a number of young men and prevented them from entering the mosque.

The enemy forces continue to impose strict restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially during Fridays.

The Zionist enemy authorities prevent thousands of citizens from the West Bank governorates from reaching Quds to perform prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as they require the issuance of special permits to cross their military checkpoints surrounding the holy city.

Since the "ceasefire" in the Gaza Strip came into effect on January 19, the Zionist enemy has tightened its military measures in the West Bank, including occupied Quds, by installing checkpoints and iron gates at the entrances to Palestinian villages and cities.

The number of military checkpoints and iron gates installed by the occupation in the West Bank has reached 898 checkpoints and gates, including 18 iron gates installed by the occupation since the beginning of this year 2025, and (146) iron gates installed by the occupation after October 7, 2023, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
