Warning Strike Disrupts Dusseldorf Airport Operations
[Mon, 24 Feb 2025 19:27:08 +0300]

Berlin - Saba:
Employees at Dusseldorf Airport in western Germany began a one-day warning strike on Monday, called by the Verdi Union, which represents workers in the service sector.

According to Russia Today, the strike has caused significant disruptions to flight operations at Dusseldorf Airport in the North Rhine-Westphalia region, with at least 30% of the scheduled 334 flights expected to be canceled.

Many flights have also experienced significant delays, affecting the plans of thousands of travelers.

This strike follows a similar work stoppage at the nearby Cologne-Bonn Airport, where the disruption has continued since Sunday evening.

According to the Verdi Union, around 400 employees participated in the strike at Düsseldorf Airport this morning.

The union aims to increase pressure on employers during ongoing wage negotiations in the public sector, calling for an 8% wage increase, with a minimum of an additional 350 euros per month for each employee, in addition to granting three extra days of vacation.
