Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky put himself in a "dead end" by avoiding negotiations with Russia on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Putin explained that Zelensky's refusal to negotiate will exacerbate the situation, especially with the continuation of American and European pressure.
Putin indicated that Russia and the United States want to achieve peace quickly, but Zelensky is obstructing these efforts. He also stressed that Russia does not oppose preserving the Ukrainian state, but rejects the use of its territory as a launching pad for attacks against it.
Putin added that European countries should participate in the negotiation process, noting that Russia is ready to work with all foreign partners, including the United States, in areas such as rare metals.
