London - Saba:
Experts are seeking to understand the factors that influence children's growth and behavior. Studies have shown that fish, especially those rich in omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, and iodine, play an important role in brain development and enhancing cognitive function.
A study of nearly 6,000 children in England between the ages of 7 and 9 showed that children who ate fish twice a week showed significant improvements in their social and interactive behavior. The study confirmed that eating fish enhances children's friendly and sociable behavior, with a higher rate of improvement in children who ate more than 190 grams per week.
The British National Health Service recommends eating two portions of fish per week, making sure one of the portions is oily fish such as salmon or mackerel.
