Sana'a - Saba:
Yemeni Foreign Minister Jamal Amer confirmed that the resumption of the naval blockade by Yemen targets only the Zionist entity. In messages sent to international bodies, he explained that the decision was a response to the occupation's failure to implement the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, its refusal to allow humanitarian aid, and the closure of crossings with Gaza.
He noted that the leader of the revolution, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, granted mediators a deadline until March 7, 2025, to open the crossings. After the deadline passed without progress in negotiations, the blockade was enforced starting March 11, 2025. The blockade covers the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden, specifically targeting Israeli ships.
The minister affirmed that the blockade will continue until the crossings are reopened and humanitarian aid is allowed in, emphasizing that all options remain on the table if the siege on Gaza persists.
