Gaza - Saba:
The Rafah Municipality called for immediate and decisive international intervention to rescue Palestinian citizens trapped under the fierce Zionist bombardment in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of the governorate.
This should be achieved by immediately opening safe corridors for their evacuation, along with the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to rescue the wounded and those detained without food, water, or shelter.
The municipality said in a statement on Monday that the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood is being subjected to genocide, as thousands of civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, remain trapped under the fierce bombardment, with no means of escape or to deliver their cries for help to the world. The municipality added that communications have been completely cut off from the neighborhood, and families remain trapped in the rubble, without water, food, or medicine, amid a complete collapse of health services.
It noted that the wounded are being left to bleed to death, and children are dying of hunger and thirst under the siege and continuous bombardment.
The municipality noted that the fate of ambulance and civil defense crews remains unknown for more than 36 hours, after contact was lost while they were heading to Tel al-Sultan to rescue the wounded.
It stated that targeting rescuers and obstructing their work constitutes a heinous war crime and a flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws.
It explained that what is happening in Tel al-Sultan is a genocide being committed before the eyes of the world, amid shameful silence and unjustifiable international inaction.
The municipality held the enemy fully responsible for this crime, and also held the international community and other actors responsible for their silence and inaction in the face of these massacres.
The municipality called for immediate and decisive international intervention to rescue the trapped citizens. This includes opening safe corridors to evacuate them under fire, as well as providing urgent humanitarian aid to rescue the wounded and those trapped without food, water, or shelter.
It called for the enemy to be forced to immediately halt its barbaric attacks on Rafah and Tel al-Sultan, and for the immediate disclosure of the fate of ambulance and civil defense crews. It called for the enemy to be held accountable for these crimes before international courts.
The municipality emphasized that continued international silence constitutes direct complicity in these massacres. The world must act now before Tel al-Sultan turns into a mass grave for its residents and rescuers.
