Hajjah – Saba:
The agricultural sector in Hajjah governorate launched the 1446 AH project to expand the cultivation of essential crops with an introductory workshop on the project's importance.
During the launch, which will be implemented in partnership with the Agricultural Cooperative Union branch, the Bunyan Foundation, and funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the governorate, the head of the agricultural sector in the governorate, Hasan Hazazi, urged the directors of departments and branches of the farming sector participating in the workshop to make optimal use of the workshop to ensure the success of the project.
He emphasized the interest of the Revolution Leader, Mr. Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, in expanding the cultivation of essential crops to achieve self-sufficiency and attain food security.
During the workshop, attended by the deputy head of the agricultural sector, Abdulazim Al-Absi, trainers Mohammed Fateeh and engineers Aseel Al-Sharfi and Adnan Khuraim presented the working mechanism, data collection, ensuring its accuracy, sourcing it correctly, and preparing crop maps for the districts focusing on the common crops in each district.
Meanwhile, the executive director of the Agricultural Cooperative Union branch, Saleh Alabhadhi, affirmed the Union's readiness to support efforts in surveying farmers who own irrigation sources through agricultural associations and development champions.
He highlighted the importance of the survey in providing a database that contributes to proper planning and making sound decisions to expand the cultivation of essential crops and reduce reliance on imports.
