Burma - Saba:
A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, triggering strong tremors in Bangkok, Thailand, and Yunnan Province in southwestern China.
There were no immediate reports of damage from Myanmar after the earthquake, which the U.S. Geological Survey said had a magnitude of 7.7 and was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The epicenter of the earthquake was about 17.2 kilometers from Mandalay, a city of about 1.2 million people, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The agency said a 6.4-magnitude aftershock struck the area about 12 minutes after the initial quake.
"We have started searching and are scouring Yangon to check for casualties and damage. So far, we have no information," a Myanmar fire department officer told Reuters.
