Jakarta - Saba:
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied yesterday reports in Israeli media regarding the transfer of residents from the Gaza Strip to Indonesia as part of a pilot program to encourage voluntary migration of Palestinians from the Strip.
Indonesian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ruliensyah Sumirat confirmed in a statement that his country's government has never discussed with any party, nor received any information about the plan to transfer Gaza residents to Indonesia.
He added that his country is more focused on achieving the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza, allowing the entry of humanitarian aid, and ensuring the commencement of reconstruction.
On Wednesday, Israeli media claimed that the first group of 100 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip was preparing to travel to Indonesia and will be employed in construction work as part of a pilot program to encourage voluntary migration.
