A global strike began on Monday morning in solidarity with Gaza Strip and in rejection of the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression.
According to the Palestinian Information Center, Arab countries participated in the strike at the popular level, with institutions and unions in Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia announcing their commitment to the strike.
European countries and the United States are expected to join the strike in the coming hours.
The strike aims to put pressure on governments to take serious positions to stop the Israeli escalation in Gaza Strip.
Activities include stopping daily work, closing shops, and calling for demonstrations in front of embassies, with wide participation expected from Arab peoples and the international community.
The Follow-up Committee of the National and Islamic Forces in Gaza Strip called for real and effective activities to put pressure on the occupation and its sponsors to stop the genocidal crime against the people of Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the forces called on the Arab and Islamic nation and all the free people of the world to mobilize globally in support of our Palestinians in Gaza Strip and to reject the US-backed massacres.
