Ramallah – Saba:
Clashes broke out on Saturday evening between Palestinians and Israeli occupation forces after the latter stormed the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah.
Local sources told the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" that the occupation forces entered the town while firing tear gas canisters and attacking passing citizens’ vehicles, leading to clashes. No injuries were reported.
In a related incident, Israeli occupation forces detained the Palestine TV crew in Jenin on Saturday evening.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces assaulted the Palestine TV crew while they were covering the ongoing aggression near Jenin refugee camp. Journalist Amina Bilalo and photojournalist Tareq Abu Zaid were detained, prevented from continuing their coverage, and had their journalistic and personal equipment confiscated.
A video clip showed occupation soldiers attacking Bilalo and Abu Zaid while they were performing their journalistic duties and reporting live from the vicinity of Jenin camp, which has been under continuous assault for 82 days.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate strongly condemned the assault on the Palestine TV crew and the detention of Bilalo and Abu Zaid, as well as the shooting at them and the seizure of their equipment.
The occupation has been preventing journalists from entering the camp and covering the aggression and demolition operations. Estimates indicate that the occupation has destroyed 600 homes in the camp, rendering around 3,000 housing units uninhabitable.
The ongoing assault has led to the martyrdom of 36 citizens in Jenin Governorate, dozens of injuries, extensive arrest and abuse campaigns, and the forced displacement of around 21,000 residents.
