Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting was held in Sana'a, chaired by the Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Dr. Ali Saif, and the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Obbad, to discuss the International Committee of the Red Cross's (ICRC) interventions in supporting the water and wastewater treatment plant in the capital.
The meeting, attended by a number of officials from the Ministry, the Secretariat, and the committee, reviewed the technical support provided by the committee over the past years, particularly in generator maintenance and improving the efficiency of the plant. The meeting also discussed future projects in the electricity and water sectors, and the possibility of renewing the agreement with the Red Cross to fund new projects in the governorates.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the committee's role in preventing diseases caused by wastewater, while the Mayor of the Capital emphasized the priority of supporting the treatment plant and the need for concerted efforts to fully develop it.
