Addameer Foundation for Human Rights affirmed that international humanitarian law provides general and special protection for hospitals through the Fourth Geneva Convention, "as civilian hospitals organized to provide care for the wounded, sick, infirm and women may not be attacked in any way, and must be respected and protected at all times.
"The protection due to civilian hospitals must be respected and protected at all times."
Addameer Foundation called on the international community in a statement today, Sunday, reported by the Palestinian Ma'an News Agency, "to put immediate pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop the aggression on the Gaza Strip and to stop targeting civilians and hospitals and not to repeat the targeting of health centers and hospitals."
It said that the Israeli enemy forces continue their brutal attack on the health system in Gaza Strip in a deliberate and systematic manner, including hospitals and health care facilities.
The Zionist enemy targeted with two missiles the emergency building of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City at dawn on Sunday, completely destroying it and putting the hospital out of service.
