The 228th free camp for cataract removal and lens implantation, which was implemented by Al-Nibras Health Association in partnership with Al-Tawasul Foundation for Humanitarian Development, concluded on Thursday at Al-Alaya Medical Complex in Al-Sabaeen district, Capital Secretariat.
The camp, which was held from April 14 to 17, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the General Directorate of Camps and the Health Office, aimed to perform 315 surgeries to remove cataracts and implant lenses, dispense medicines , conduct examination and examination for more than 2,500 cases of poor and needy people from the districts of the Secretariat and neighboring areas.
Dr. Abdulhak Al-Ashwal, Executive Director of Al-Nibras Society, explained that due to the high demand witnessed by the camp by those unable to afford the costs of treatment and operations, the surgeries were increased from 250 operations to 315 free operations.
He called on businessmen and organizations to contribute to supporting free medical camps and initiatives to care for sight and combat blindness.
