The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed on Friday that Ukrainian forces' losses on the Kursk axis amounted to more than 225 soldiers over the past 24 hours, in addition to the destruction of a number of military equipment.

In its report on the progress of military operations in Ukraine, the ministry explained that its forces repelled Ukrainian attacks in Kursk, noting that two armored personnel carriers, an armored fighting vehicle, and a number of Ukrainian artillery pieces were destroyed.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted that the total losses of Ukrainian forces during military operations in the Kursk axis exceeded 75,000 soldiers.

Last August, Ukrainian forces launched a surprise attack in the Kursk border region and remain stationed in parts of it.

Last month, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces had recaptured 29 towns in Kursk between March 8 and 14.
