Hodeida - Saba:
The Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation has condemned in the strongest terms the US aggression targeting Ras Isa Oil Port.
In a statement, the corporation considered the US aggression's targeting of Ras Isa Port a new terrorist crime, adding to the series of systematic violations targeting Red Sea ports since 2015. It reveals the aggression forces' insistence on targeting vital civilian facilities and destroying the resources of the Yemeni people.
The statement explained that targeting Ras Isa Port, a key pillar of fuel supply for the Yemeni people, constitutes a flagrant violation of international laws and conventions that criminalize the bombing of civilian objects and affirm the sanctity of targeting service facilities, particularly those related to the livelihood and needs of citizens.
The statement pointed out that the US bombing caused significant damage to the port and disrupted its vital activities, which will negatively impact shipping and oil supplies and exacerbate the suffering of the Yemeni people, already exacerbated by the ten-year blockade.
The Ports Authority held the US fully responsible for this crime and previous repeated attacks, stressing that the Red Sea ports are civilian and commercial ports subject to international oversight and comply with all port security requirements in accordance with international laws and regulations.
It called on the United Nations to assume its role and responsibility in protecting civilian facilities and holding the perpetrators of these crimes accountable, stressing that the repeated targeting of ports will only strengthen its resolve and steadfastness in fulfilling its national duty.
