Human rights sector & community organizations in Hodeida condemn US massacre at Ras Issa port

Sana'a - Saba:
The Human Rights Sector, the Social Affairs and Labor Office and civil society organizations in Hodeida province condemned the horrific massacre committed by the US aggression in Ras Issa port, which killed 74 martyrs and more than 170 wounded, including employees and workers of the port.

A joint statement issued by the Human Rights Sector and the Social Affairs and Organizations Office stressed that this crime represents a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws, and a serious escalation that reveals the brutality of the aggression and the absence of any legal or humanitarian deterrent for the US administration, which continues its blatant targeting of civilians and vital infrastructure in Yemen.

He pointed out that this targeting is a full-fledged war crime and one of the ugliest forms of organized international terrorism. He also pointed out that targeting a civilian port is a crime against humanity according to Article 7 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

The statement condemned the shameful international silence and considered it a de facto partnership in the continuation of war crimes against the Yemeni people. The statement called on the United Nations and the Security Council to assume their legal and humanitarian responsibilities towards the massacres committed against the Yemeni people, and to work to hold the perpetrators accountable and bring them to international justice.

It emphasized that this crime represents a systematic extension of the targeting of vital facilities and civilian installations, including ports, which represent a lifeline for millions of Yemenis.

It pointed out that the continuation of this aggression reflects criminal intentions aimed at starving the Yemenis and trying to bring them to their knees.

The human rights sector and civil society organizations in Hodeida called on all free people of the world to break the silence and take serious action to condemn , stop these crimes and hold the perpetrators accountable.
