The US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he does not rule out the possibility of stopping military aid to Ukraine.
Trump told reporters at the White House in response to a question about whether he intends to stop providing military aid to Kiev if the United States withdraws from the peace negotiations: "I don't want to say that, because I believe that we are able to accomplish that (settlement of the conflict)," Trump told reporters at the White House, according to Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day at a meeting in Paris, the United States presented proposals to its allies on a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, including draft conditions for a cessation of fighting and easing sanctions on Moscow if a long-term truce is achieved.
US officials emphasized in Paris that they are seeking to achieve a full ceasefire in Ukraine within weeks. According to the sources, the main points of the US proposal include:
A de facto freeze on the conflict with territories reached by Russian forces remaining under Moscow's control.
Easing sanctions on Russia if the truce holds.
Removing Ukraine's application to join NATO from the agenda.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder the settlement of the conflict, and the direct involvement of NATO countries in it, does not contribute to the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
