Islamabad - Saba:
The Pakistani government announced the arrest of nearly 160 individuals following 20 separate attacks on KFC restaurants across the country, one of which resulted in the fatal shooting of an employee in Lahore.
The attacks occurred amid violent protests linked to the war in Gaza, with demonstrators associating the fast-food chain with U.S. support for Israel.
Authorities arrested 145 people in Punjab province and 15 in the capital, Islamabad. Neither KFC nor its parent company, Yum! Brands has issued a statement. Officials emphasized that the restaurants employ Pakistanis and operate within the local market, warning against targeting domestic businesses.
