Gaza – Saba:
In a horrific scene, Palestinian activists and journalists documented a video showing children whose bodies were flung onto the roof of a house following a violent Israeli enemy airstrike on the Yarmouk neighborhood in central Gaza City, using high-explosive bombs.
The video, circulated by activists on social media, showed injured children and the remains of others scattered on the roof of a building near the targeted site—a scene that epitomizes the most brutal forms of genocide Palestinians have endured since October 7, 2023.
One of the most harrowing images, according to Anadolu Agency, was the remains of a little girl thrown onto a neighboring rooftop by the explosion. Only half of her body was visible, fused with concrete and blood. The small girl wore a pink dress stained with dirt and ash, her hair strands swaying in the dust clouds stirred by the horrific bombing. Just meters away, another injured child had also been hurled onto the same roof, blood streaming from his head.
The boy cried out weakly for help, while his mother screamed and searched for him through the rubble after losing her husband and other children in the same strike. Unaware he was still alive, lying on their neighbors' roof in critical physical and psychological condition, he was her only remaining hope after losing the rest of her family—her brother, sister, and their children.
Nusayba Shehto, the mother of the wounded child, spoke to Anadolu Agency in distress, saying the Israeli bombing completely destroyed their house, killing her husband and children. Only one child survived, thrown by the blast onto a neighboring rooftop.
“Everyone in the house was killed—my husband, my children, my brother and his children, my sister and her children. Only one child remained, flung by the explosion onto the neighbors' roof. Thank God we found him alive, but his condition is critical,” she said, struggling to hold herself together.
She continued, “The explosion was extremely powerful. Nothing remained of the house. Ten children from our family were inside when it was bombed. Everyone was thrown… everyone was screaming. Only my son and I survived.”
Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion was devastatingly strong, suggesting the Israeli enemy forces used high-impact bombs, which demolished the house over its residents and hurled victims’ bodies dozens of meters away—including children flung onto the upper floors of nearby buildings.
On October 23, 2024, a Harvard University study revealed that the Israeli enemy army had used highly destructive U.S.-made Mark 84 bombs.
The grieving mother, standing outside a Gaza City hospital, continued: “My son’s name is Ali Faraj. He’s currently in surgery with severe abdominal injuries.”
In a painful plea, the Palestinian woman called on the world to stop the genocide: “Save what’s left of our people. We can’t bear more losses… We are human beings. We’re exhausted from destruction and death.”
On March 24, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that **15,613 children** had been killed in the genocide over 19 months (up to March 23), accounting for 31% of total fatalities at the time. The ministry did not specify the number of children and women killed since Israel resumed its genocidal campaign on March 18, which, as of Thursday noon, had claimed 1,928 lives and injured 5,055, most of them women and children, according to the latest data.
Over 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza remain under a suffocating siege, with healthcare and basic services completely paralyzed and crossings closed for the 55th consecutive day, worsening the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.
