Sana'a City on Saturday saw the start of basic and advanced CPR training course for health and public mobilization personnel in the governorates of Jawf and Raymah. The course is organized by the General Department of Emergency and Ambulance at the Ministry of Health, Environment, and Public Mobilization.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Administration, Local and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, emphasized the importance of these training courses, which enhance the capabilities of health personnel and mobilization committees to play a vital role in emergency situations and respond to incidents.
He commended the Ministry of Health's efforts in implementing such specialized courses, which develop the capabilities of health workers, improve health services, and enhance the participants' skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, indicated that the course falls within the framework of the Government of Change and Construction's program and the ministry's plan to strengthen the capabilities of health personnel and develop emergency services in the country, ensuring the provision of the best healthcare to citizens.
He considered the course an important step in strengthening the capabilities of health personnel, emphasizing the importance of properly handling injuries that may require rapid and effective intervention.
At the opening ceremony, attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Administration, Local and Rural Development, Ammar Al-Hareb, the Director of the General Department of Emergency and Ambulance at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Osama Al-Sharafi, explained that the five-day course aims to equip 58 health and mobilization personnel from Jawf and Raymah governorates with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and methods for raising awareness of the importance of CPR, to increase the number of trainees within the community and enhance confidence in providing first aid.
He stated that CPR skills are essential for saving the lives of people suffering from cardiac arrest or respiratory problems. He emphasized that the trainees will contribute to raising awareness of the importance of CPR.
