The third round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, held Saturday, in the Omani capital, Muscat, concluded, with May 3 set as the tentative date for the next meeting.
The third round of indirect negotiations between the two countries was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, and was chaired by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US President's Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steve Witkoff.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi explained that "the round of negotiations was very serious and included technical and artistic issues. We exchanged negotiations in writing several times."
He continued: "Questions were raised, and both sides answered them in writing."
The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that there are still differences on some details, stressing that there is optimism, but there is extreme caution, according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi said on Saturday that nuclear talks between the United States and Iran will continue next week, with a tentative date set for May 3 for a new "high-level" meeting.
Al-Busaidi added in a post on X, according to Reuters, that "all basic principles, objectives, and technical concerns were discussed" during the third round of talks held on Saturday in Muscat.
