New York - Saba:
Major American cities have witnessed mass demonstrations in solidarity with the Palestinian people, amid the ongoing war of extermination in the Gaza Strip. Demonstrators demanded an immediate ceasefire, a ban on arms exports to Israel, and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid.
According to the Palestinian WAFA News Agency, hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Herald Square in New York City, demanding an immediate ceasefire and an arms embargo on Israel. They also affirmed their rejection of the use of American taxpayer funds to fund military operations targeting civilians in Gaza.
Demonstrations were also held in Washington, D.C., Milwaukee, Dallas, San Francisco, and Chicago as part of the "Global Day of Action for Gaza," expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian people as the war of extermination continues.
Participants raised slogans expressing their rejection of the criminal war waged by Israel against the Palestinians and their deep concern over the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza for 18 months. They demanded the opening of the crossings and the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip.
In the same context, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) severed its ties with Elbit Systems (Israel's largest arms manufacturer) after sustained pressure from students and pro-Palestinian protesters.
