On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, the Palestinian Media Forum called on media outlets and journalists around the world to show genuine solidarity with Palestinian journalists facing grave violations, especially in the Gaza Strip.
The Forum emphasized that what journalists are being subjected to there constitutes a war crime aimed at silencing the truth. It called for intensified media coverage of the violations, exposing the occupation's practices, and prosecuting their perpetrators internationally. It emphasized that defending Palestinian journalists is a defense of press freedom globally, calling for May 3 to be made a true day of solidarity and action for media freedom.
