Ottawa - SABA:
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called on the Zionist enemy authorities today, Saturday, to allow food entry into Gaza and permit the World Food Programme (WFP) to operate in the besieged enclave.
In a statement on the platform "X," Carney said, "Food must not be used as a political tool," hours after the UN-affiliated program exhausted its stocks due to the ongoing Israeli blockade on supplies.
He clarified that the UN's World Food Programme had just announced its food stocks in Gaza were depleted because of the siege imposed by the Israeli government, stressing that "food cannot be a political instrument."
Carney added, "The World Food Programme must be allowed to resume its work to save lives."
He continued, "We will keep working with our allies to achieve a permanent ceasefire."
