Yemeni Parliament sends messages condemning Trump administration’s crimes against Yemenis
[Sun, 27 Apr 2025 17:15:25 +0300]

Sana'a – Saba:
The Yemeni House of Representatives has sent a series of messages to the heads of parliaments and legislative councils in several countries worldwide, addressing the crimes committed by the Trump administration against the Yemenis and their resources.

The messages—addressed to the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, the Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, the President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the Speaker of the South African National Assembly, the Secretary-General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the President of the European Parliament, and numerous other parliamentary leaders—detailed the ongoing American aggression against Yemen.

The correspondence highlighted the escalating violations of international and humanitarian law in the region and across the world, emphasizing that the IPU represents the parliaments of its member states.

The messages condemned the unjustified American aggression led by the Trump administration, which primarily targets civilians, popular markets, residential areas, and civilian infrastructure. These actions constitute crimes against humanity and blatant violations of the United Nations Charter, as well as international and humanitarian conventions, without any legal justification.

Furthermore, the letters clarified that the U.S. aggression aligns with the Trump administration’s unlimited support for the occupying Israeli enemy, attempting to obscure the horrific crimes committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The House of Representatives dismissed Trump’s claims about safeguarding international navigation in the Red Sea as outright lies and blatant misinformation aimed at deceiving the American public and international opinion to justify the atrocities committed against Yemen and its people.

Yemen reaffirmed its commitment to the security and safety of maritime navigation in its territorial waters, in accordance with international law and UN principles, stressing that Yemeni waters remain a safe passage for international shipping—except for vessels heading to or from occupied Palestinian ports, regardless of their nationality or pretext—until Israel’s brutal aggression ends and the siege on Gaza and occupied Palestinian territories is lifted, allowing the entry of fuel, food, medicine, and water to alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian crisis endured by Palestinians for over a year and a half.

The House emphasized that Yemen’s stance in support of the Palestinian cause does not violate international law but rather falls within Yemen’s sovereign right to self-defense , constitutes a legitimate response to the war crimes and genocide committed by the Israeli war machine with direct support from the Trump administration. Yemen considers its actions a moral, humanitarian, and legal obligation to support the Palestinians in their just struggle for freedom and dignity.

The Trump administration was held fully accountable—legally, morally, and humanitarianly—for its war crimes and massacres against the Yemenis and their resources, as well as for compensating all damages and losses inflicted by U.S. aggression on civilians, public , private properties, and Yemen’s national assets.

The letters urged the IPU and regional and international parliamentary bodies to take immediate action and fulfill their duties in ending the injustice against the Palestinian people by:
- Enforcing International Criminal Court (ICC) rulings against Zionist war criminals, including Netanyahu, Gallant, and all those complicit in these crimes.
- Providing full support to the ICC to ensure it can perform its duties free from pressure or coercion.

The Representatives House stressed the need for collective efforts to expose the hegemonic and arrogant policies of the U.S. administration, which seeks to dominate nations’ resources and fuel conflicts in the region to serve its criminal agenda.

The messages called for unified parliamentary action to confront these challenges, violations, and aggressions, advocating for strong, shared positions that support Palestinian rights, demand an end to Israeli occupation, and call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.

International parliaments were urged to adopt courageous and principled stances, rejecting double standards and demanding the application of international law to hold Zionist war criminals accountable. Immediate action was called for to halt the reckless policies of the terrorist Trump, whose extremist agenda threatens global security , peace and risks unleashing irreversible disasters.
