Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting in Bani Matar District of Sana'a province, chaired by Province Deputy Jabran Ghubar, discussed on Monday mechanisms to activate the role of local councils in preserving endowment lands and properties in the western directorates of the province.
The meeting, attended by Abdullah Amer, Director of the General Endowments Authority Office in the province, as well as directors of Bani Matar (Yahya Al-Qanous), Al-Haymah Al-Kharijiyah (Khaled Al-Arshi), Al-Haymah Al-Dakhiliyah (Kamal Al-Askari), Manakhah (Muneer Al-Kubsi), and Sa'fan (Mohammed Al-Bahr), reviewed obstacles hindering endowment work. These include incomplete surveys of endowment lands and lack of cooperation from some tenants with endowment officials in the directorates.
Participants emphasized the role of local councils and relevant authorities in safeguarding endowment properties, stressing that preserving endowments is a collective responsibility. They underscored the need to protect endowment lands from encroachments, hold violators accountable, and refer them to judicial authorities in accordance with Sharia endowment law.
The meeting highlighted the importance of documenting endowment lands in each directorate and recording any transactions to facilitate tracking tenants and collecting endowment dues promptly.
Attendees stressed the necessity of coordination between district directors, security, and judicial authorities as supervisory committees for endowment properties at the directorate level to inventory endowment assets and follow up on financial obligations.
They also emphasized the need for coordination between the province's endowments office, district authorities, security agencies to overcome challenges and develop appropriate solutions for pending issues.
