New York - Saba:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned against Israeli plans to establish what they call a “humanitarian city” in southern Gaza, affirming that it would serve as mass detention camps for Palestinians.
UNRWA’s media advisor in Gaza, Adnan Abu Hasna, said in a press statement on Tuesday, “The enemy has been planning this goal since aid distribution points were set up in southern Gaza, but this time there is an explicit announcement of the Israeli efforts to forcibly displace the people of Gaza into mass detention camps in Rafah, as a prelude to expelling Palestinians from their land.”
He explained that these efforts confirm that "Israel" remains committed to the displacement of Gaza’s population, expressing deep regret over the immense pressure being exerted by the occupation authorities on the Palestinian people — amid a total lack of aid, the collapse of the health system, and fuel depletion — all in an attempt to push Gazans toward voluntary displacement.
Abu Hasna warned of the consequences of implementing this plan and forcing Palestinians into that completely destroyed area, which cannot accommodate two million people in just 60 square kilometers of Gaza, amid the absence of life and any future prospects.
