Gaza – SABA:
The Palestinian Center for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared announced today, Tuesday, that it has documented the disappearance of 50 Palestinian civilians under the rubble in less than two weeks, due to the continued Israeli bombardment of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, the center reported that around 20 members of the Arafat family were reported missing on Monday, following an Israeli airstrike that targeted a five-story residential building in the Al-Zarqa area in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.
Additionally, contact was lost last Monday with approximately 30 individuals from the Abdo and Muslim families, as rescue teams were unable to reach them due to obstruction by Israeli forces.
The center stated that Israeli forces continue to hinder the entry of rescue teams, equipment, and fuel into eastern Gaza, worsening the humanitarian disaster and reducing the chances of finding survivors, according to the Palestinian Safa News Agency.
The center called on the United Nations and the Red Cross to take immediate action to pressure Israeli forces to allow rescue teams safe access and to open an international investigation into the deliberate obstruction of search operations.
It also urged media outlets and human rights organizations to keep this issue in the spotlight and to document these actions, which amount to systematic violations and crimes against humanity.
