The Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and the Industrial Zone in Al Hodeida province, organized an oratory event on Tuesday to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), under the slogan "Far from us is humiliation."
During the event, the Governorate’s Deputy for Services Affairs, Mohammad Halisi, emphasized that recalling Karbala embodies the meanings of patience and steadfastness in confronting falsehood. He pointed out that Imam Hussein (AS) presented the highest examples of sacrifice in defense of religion and upholding the truth.
He noted that Yemenis today, facing years of aggression and siege, draw lessons of resilience and steadfastness from Imam Hussein’s revolution. He explained that Karbala is not merely a historical memory but an immortal epic renewed on every front confronting injustice and tyranny.
He stressed that every employee and official should draw inspiration from this occasion, embracing sincerity in work and honesty in fulfilling responsibilities, as true loyalty to Hussein is practically demonstrated through steadfastness in the field and dedication to serving the homeland.
The Deputy Governor affirmed that the slogan *"Far from us is humiliation"* represents a firm faith-based stance that reflects the essence of authentic Muhammadan Islam. He added that following Imam Hussein’s path is the key to defeating projects of domination and cultural, political, and economic invasion.
For his part, Saleh Atifa, Director of the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment in the governorate, highlighted that commemorating Ashura reflects the level of popular and official awareness of the importance of Imam Hussein’s stance in the contemporary reality of the nation, especially amid the economic war Yemen is enduring.
He noted that Imam Hussein (AS) faced political and economic siege with unwavering determination, just as the Yemeni people today endure the aggression’s blockade without submission or compromise on their principles.
He emphasized that the values upheld by Imam Hussein should guide institutional work, calling on the staff of the office , the commercial sector to redouble efforts and enhance performance to strengthen economic resilience in the face of challenges.
