Sanaa - Saba:

A broad meeting was held in Sana’a, chaired by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim, to discuss the results of the joint field campaign to remove speed bumps from major roads linking Sana’a with the governorates of Sa’ada, Taiz, and Al-Hodeidah.

The meeting, which included representatives from the Ministries of Local Administration, Interior, Traffic Police, and the Road Maintenance Fund, reviewed the outcomes of the campaign’s first and second phases, during which more than 400 speed bumps were removed from the targeted routes.

Field teams presented their findings, highlighting the positive impact on road safety and the reduction of accidents and vehicle damage caused by unregulated speed bumps.

The participants expressed appreciation for the interest and directives of the Revolution Leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council, as well as the follow-up efforts by the ministries involved. They also thanked the field teams and citizens for their cooperation and awareness.

They stressed the importance of maintaining the progress made, instructing local councils and security departments to prevent the reinstallation of speed bumps or the creation of new ones, and to take necessary action against violators.

The meeting concluded with the announcement of the campaign’s third phase, which will target roads in Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Al-Bayda, Marib, and other high-traffic governorates.

After the meeting, Minister Qahim and the participants visited the Unified Traffic Services Center to inspect its operations and the level of service provided to citizens, noting the center’s use of advanced digital systems that help streamline procedures and accelerate transaction processing.
