Dhamar - SABA:
The Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring Center in Dhamar province recorded today a 5.1 magnitude earthquake in the eastern Gulf of Aden at 2:15 PM local time.
In a statement obtained by SABA, the center confirmed this quake is among the strong seismic activities regularly recorded in the Gulf of Aden region.
Additional Seismic Activity Reported:
- Ethiopia: Five earthquakes (magnitude 3.7 to 4.5) recorded between last midnight and Friday morning
- Red Sea: One mild 2.7 magnitude quake
- Carlsberg Ridge: Two quakes (4.8 and 4.9 magnitude) at 7:51 AM and 9:21 AM respectively
The center confirmed its specialists are closely monitoring seismic developments both within Yemeni territory and neighboring regions.
