The third round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations is expected to take place this evening, Wednesday, in Istanbul, while the Russian side has not yet officially confirmed the date of the potential meeting.
Russia and Ukraine have already held two rounds of direct negotiations, both of which were held in Istanbul.
The Russian delegation arrived for the first round of talks on May 15, but no contacts were made between the two countries. The meeting was held the following day and lasted approximately two hours.
The second round of negotiations was held on June 2 and lasted for more than an hour at Ciragan Palace in Istanbul. During the talks, the two sides exchanged draft memoranda of understanding on resolving the conflict. The second round also resulted in the exchange of prisoners and the bodies of fallen soldiers.
