Ramallah – Saba:
The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said on Sunday that the so-called "Civil Affairs Authority" informed them of the martyrdom of administrative detainee Ahmad Saeed Saleh Tazaz'ah (20 years old) from Jenin, who died in Megiddo Prison, operated by the Zionist occupation.
In a joint statement, the Commission and the Club said that Tazaz'ah had been detained since May 6, and that no precise details were available regarding the circumstances of his death.
The statement noted that Megiddo Prison, where the martyr was held, has been one of the most notorious prisons where grave crimes have been recorded—particularly with the continued outbreak of scabies, which the prison administration has effectively turned into a clear tool to kill more detainees.
With the martyrdom of Tazaz'ah, the number of documented detainee martyrs since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza has risen to 76, with these being only those whose identities have been confirmed amid the ongoing crime of enforced disappearance.
"This stage in the history of the Palestinian prisoners' movement and our people is the bloodiest," the statement added, "with the number of known prisoner martyrs since 1967 reaching 313, according to verified institutional data."
The sharp increase in the number of deaths among detainees underscores that the Zionist prison system is continuing its policy of slow killing.
"The crime of martyring detainee Tazaz'ah," the statement continued, "is yet another addition to the Zionist regime's record of barbarism, which continues to practice all forms of abuse aimed at killing prisoners, as part of an ongoing policy of extermination."
"While the world calls for the release of Zionist detainees, it turns a blind eye to the systematic killing of our prisoners and the unimaginable acts of torture they face."
The Commission and the Club held the Zionist occupation authorities fully responsible for Tazaz'ah’s death.
They renewed their call on the international human rights system to take effective decisions to hold Zionist leaders accountable for their war crimes against the Palestinian people, to impose clear sanctions that would internationally isolate the occupation, restore the fundamental role of the human rights system, and end the terrifying state of inaction that has prevailed throughout the genocide.
They further demanded an end to the exceptional impunity granted to the Zionist entity, which is being treated as though it is above the law, accountability, and justice.
