Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, sent a cable of condolences and sympathy on the passing of Sheikh Mohsen bin Hussein Atifah, who died at the age of 78 after a life dedicated to national service.
In the message addressed to the late sheikh’s sons—Mohammed, Omar, Ammar, and Issam—and the entire family, President Al-Mashat praised Sheikh Atifah’s honorable legacy and his patriotic and national contributions.
He highlighted the prominent roles the late sheikh played, noting that he was a respected national figure and one of the senior tribal leaders of Bani Qais and Bani Suraym in the Hashid tribal confederation. Sheikh Atifah was known for his effective role in conflict resolution and community reconciliation.
President Al-Mashat expressed his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the sons, brothers, and relatives of the deceased, as well as to the sheikhs and tribes of Bani Suraym and the wider Hashid tribe.
