HEBRON December 19. 2022 (Saba) - A groups of herds of settlers stormed on Monday Ibrahimi Mosque in the center of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestine Today news agency quoted director of the Hebron Endowment Nidal al-Jabari as saying “Dozens of settlers, under the protection of the enemy forces stormed Ibrahimi Mosque and lit candlesticks, under the pretext of celebrating the Jewish “Festival of Lights.”
Al-Jabari added the enemy forces continue digging operations and change the historical features of the sanctuary outside by installing an electric elevator to facilitate settler raids, in addition to preventing the call to prayer dozens of times during one month.
He indicated that the enemy forces constantly impede the arrival of arrivals, visitors, and worshipers, both Palestinians and Arabs, toHaram al-Ibrahimi in an attempt to completely Judaize it.
During the past months, as part of the procedures for building the elevator, the enemy forces began cutting the stairs of Ibrahimi Mosque in a move aimed at changing the features of this historical and cultural heritage which has been listed since 2017 on the World Heritage List.
