Parliament votes on draft law regarding countries classification & entities hostile to Yemen
[Wed, 14 Feb 2024 21:40:16 +0300]

SANA'A February 14. 2024 (Saba) - Parliament voted in its extraordinary session today, Wednesday, headed by the parliament Speaker, Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, on a draft law regarding the classification of countries, entities and persons hostile to the Republic of Yemen, and approved it in its final form.

The draft law aims to confront hostile actions and practices that affect the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen and its independence from any country.

The draft law consists of three chapters, the first includes the name, definitions, and objectives, while the second chapter includes the application of this law to countries hostile to the Republic of Yemen, foremost of which is the Zionist enemy entity and any state or group that practices hostile acts against the Republic of Yemen, as well as organizations and groups that have hostile objectives against the Republic of Yemen. Yemen, and people who engage in activities contrary to Islamic values, and Chapter Three identifies hostile acts and the necessary measures to confront them.

In the session attended by the Caretaker Minister of State for parliament and Shura Council Affairs, Dr. Ali Abu Haliqa, the Council heard from the Caretaker Minister of Legal Affairs, Dr. Ismail Al-Mahaqri, the explanatory memorandum for the aforementioned draft law, and after extensive discussion, the Council voted on it.

In the session, the parliament condemned the American-British aggression targeting Yemeni cities, which yesterday targeted various areas in Al-Tuhayta District and before that in Ras Issa area of Al-Salif District in Hodeida province.

Council members considered the continued aggressive US-British raids on Yemen a clear violation of Yemeni sovereignty, and an attempt to dissuade Yemen from its decision to prevent Israeli ships from passing through Red Sea in support of the Palestinians in Gaza Strip, who are being subjected to a genocidal war by the Zionist entity.

They denounced the shameful Arab and international silence regarding the continuation of genocidal war crimes against civilians in Rafah city, the last area where the Palestinians took refuge.

The parliament called on Arab , Islamic peoples and the free people of the world to continue organizing marches and supporting events to stop the war and end the siege imposed on the Palestinians for more than 130 days.

It called on the UN bodies concerned with human rights to follow up on the issue and oppression of the Palestinians in international courts and to file lawsuits to prosecute the Zionist war criminals and their supporters in international courts so that they may receive deterrent punishment for the horrific massacres, war crimes, genocide and siege they committed against the Palestinians.

The Council had begun the session by reviewing and approving the minutes of its last meeting, and it will continue to hold its business sessions next Saturday, God Almighty willing.
