A significant advancement in eye care services was marked on Saturday with the inauguration of a modern Phaco Unit in the Ophthalmology Department of the Republican General Hospital Authority in Sa'ada.
Dr. Ismail al-Warfi, Chairman of the Authority, highlighted the ongoing commitment to improving healthcare services for citizens within the Ophthalmology Department.
He emphasized that equipping the department with the latest medical technology, including this advanced Phaco Unit, is a key priority.
Dr. al-Warfi explained that the new unit will significantly ease the burden on eye patients by enabling cataract surgeries and lens implantations without the need for traditional surgical incisions, especially with the availability of qualified specialists at the hospital.
At the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Adeeb al-Sayyadi, Consultant Ophthalmologist, noted that the Phaco device is the first of its kind in Sa'ada Governorate and ranks among the best medical devices available for ophthalmic surgery.
The introduction of the Phaco Unit is considered a qualitative leap forward in ophthalmological medical services in the region, offering advanced treatment for cataracts and lens implantation with minimally invasive techniques.
