62% of the Israeli public expressed support for an agreement with Hamas that includes a one-time prisoner exchange, a ceasefire, and the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli media reports.
According to a poll published by the Maariv newspaper on Friday, 21% opposed the proposal, while 17% said they had no opinion on the matter.
Such an agreement was supported by 89% of opposition party voters and only 29% of coalition party voters, with 46% of them opposed. It also emerged that 39% of Likud voters oppose such an agreement, while 34% support it.
