MOSCOW February 15. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian space agency "Roscosmos" announced the launch of the rocket "Soyuz 2.1a" into space on Thursday, carrying the cargo vehicle "Progress MS-26", from Baikonur Cosmodrome.
According to the agency, nine minutes after the launch of the rocket, the vehicle was placed in its scheduled orbit, and began heading towards the International Space Station, where it is scheduled to dock next Saturday.
The vehicle carries equipment and devices for the station's systems, equipment for scientific experiments, food and medical supplies for astronauts, 580 kilograms of fuel, 420 kilograms of drinking water and 40 kilograms of nitrogen.
The spacecraft will dock with the Zvezda module in the Russian sector of the International Space Station, replacing the Progress MS-24, which separated from the space station last Tuesday.
Progress MS-26 is scheduled to remain in space for 180 days.
