Transport Minister confirms Yemen's commitment to maritime navigation's safety in Red & Arab seas
[Tue, 27 Feb 2024 16:52:32 +0300]

SANA'A February 27.2024 (Saba) - The caretaker Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, affirmed Yemen's commitment to maintaining international peace , security and the safety of maritime navigation in the Red and Arab seas, except for Israeli, American and British ships.

Minister Al-Durra explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that there is no threat from Yemen to ships crossing Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Arabian and Red Seas, with the exception of Israeli ships or those heading to the occupied ports, as well as the ships of the two countries of the American-British aggression due to their ongoing aggression against Yemen.

He pointed out that stopping operations against Zionist ships is linked to stopping the aggression and lifting the siege on Gaza.

He also pointed out that the decline in the rate of crossing of ships passing through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal is due to the militarization of the Red Sea by America , Britain and their violation of the countries' sovereignty bordering Bab al-Mandab Strait, in addition to their continuous warnings to ships.

He said, "The Yemeni decision to prevent Israeli ships from passing through the Red Sea has been clear since its announcement last November due to the aggression, massacres and genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza, American and British ships were added to this decision after the blatant and illegal aggression against our country."

Minister Al-Durra affirmed Yemen's right to respond to the American-British aggression, noting that Yemen adheres to its humanitarian and religious position alongside the brothers in Gaza by preventing Israeli ships until the aggression on Gaza Strip is stopped, the siege is lifted, humanitarian, food, medicine, and fuel aid enters.
