SANA'A April 20, 2024 (Saba) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the United States of America’s continued position on the Palestinian issue and the exploitation of the UN Security Council platform to provide unlimited support to the Zionist entity, and justify the occupation of Palestinian Arab lands and the practice of the most horrific violations and the commission of war crimes and genocide against the Palestinians.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that Washington’s exercise of its veto power over a draft resolution submitted by Algerian permanent delegation to accept the State of Palestine as a member of the United Nations General Assembly confirms beyond any doubt that America is working to Threatening international peace and security in the region and encouraging an increase in the intensity of the conflict in the Middle East, which is expected not to be limited to the countries of the region, but rather its threat will reach the capitals of many countries that support the Zionist entity and those that are pursuing normalization with it.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement renewed the warning that the continued granting of veto power to permanent members of the Security Council is considered a source of threat to the future work and role of the United Nations, and it is important to work to reconsider it in a way that achieves a kind of equality between member states and contributes to achieving the goals and objectives of the United Nations Charter to spread International peace and security.
