SANA'A July 15. 2024 (Saba) - The Supreme Judicial Council held on Monday its weekly meeting , headed by the President of the Council, Judge Ahmed Yahya Al-Mutawakkil.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council renewed its strong condemnation of the Zionist enemy’s continued perpetration of brutal massacres against civilians, women and children in camps for the displaced in Gaza.
The Council blessed the continuation of the qualitative operations carried out by the Yemeni armed forces against the ships and targets of the Zionist enemy, as a victory for the oppression of the Palestinians and in response to their brutal massacres in Gaza and occupied Palestine.
It listened to a briefing by the President and members of the Council on the results of the inspection visit they made to a number of courts and prosecutors in the capital secretariat and Sa'ada, Amran, Hajjah, Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Dhale', Al-Mahwit and Al-Jawf the provinces, during which they were informed of work progress and the job discipline level of their employees following the judicial leave and the launch of the new Hijri year.
After discussion, the Judicial Council approved the Supreme Court’s judicial statistics for the first half of the past judicial year 1445 AH, and cautioned against taking into account the recommendations and observations contained therein.
It reviewed the report of the head of the Judicial Inspection Authority regarding the launch of the field visits of the ongoing judicial inspection committees on the work of judges in the courts of the Capital Secretariat and a number of Provinces. It stressed that the inspection work during the current session of the month of Muharram aims to evaluate the work of judges and avoid shortcomings wherever they are found in order to improve judicial performance.
It also reviewed some requests referred by the Office of the Presidency of the Republic regarding reconsidering the judicial rulings issued against some of the complainants, and took the necessary measures regarding them.
The Council discussed a number of topics on its agenda, took appropriate decisions regarding them, and approved the minutes of its previous meeting after making some amendments to it.
